X Games XVI was an action sporting event which took place from July 29 – August 1, 2010 in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center, L.A. Live and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The games featured the sports of Moto X, skateboarding, BMX, and rallying.
Since 2006 ('X Games 12') 'Rally Car' events are part of the 'X Games'. 'Rally Car Racing' a formula comparable to a "Special Stage" in Rally was introduced in 2006 and returned for a fifth straight year however for the very first time at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The goal is to accumulate the lowest elapsed driving time on a prescribed course, a course that was set out in and around the Coliseum. Travis Pastrana was the first gold medalist in this discipline in the history of the 'X Games' and was competing in this year's competition as well in order to realize his goal of winning a total of four gold medals during 'X Games 16' in different disciplines.
