The 2011 Global RallyCross Championship was the first in the series and was won by Ford driver Tanner Foust. The 2000 and 2002 World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm was runner-up and Kiwi Rhys Millen was third.

Rounds were held at four venues in three different states, starting on March 25 and ending on July 31. The venues were Irwindale Speedway in California, Old Mill Adventure Park in Washington, Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado and Los Angeles in California.
